The assembly was a bit involved. The avergae person may have little difficulty. I have a hand drill with 1/16 inch bit that helped get the screws in right. Over all its not that hard to assemble and the final product is a good looking table that is not too large or too small - just right for starting artists. The caddy I didnt install. Just left it on the top edge - it does not slide. The height adjustments are a bit tricky for the first 5 minutes then a breeze! I think this is a great deal for the money, and the delivery was quick. Thanks!
Ps. I am sotring my larger sketches next to the leg in a large art case that I tied to the side with its strap. There are possibilities to explore. Be creative!

This was a disappointment. I had to make my own screwholes in the drawing table (and measure where they went exactly). It took forever to put together. The chair doesn't even have directions- just a diagram. I followed it exactly- and the lever doesn't even work! Also, they don't tell you that you have to screw in the table caddy (once again making your own screw holes.) The caddy is packaged separately, so I didn't realize this until the table was set up. I really didn't want the turn the table back over and make more screw holes. Really much more trouble than it was worth! Some assembly required is understandable, but this was just ridiculous!

I received my Alvin Onyx 4 pc Folding Creative Drafting Table. Chair, Tray, and Lamp on Monday afternoon. I found the directions for assembly easy to follow. All surfaces were in excellent condition...construction is sturdy and of top quality...I couldn't be happier with the product, the price, and the finished product.

Good design, and fits my needs. I wouldn't call assembly either easy or difficult; more like "medium difficulty." If you didn't own a drill, for example, or screwdrivers, you'd be in some trouble.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was prompt, but product arrived with some damage. We went ahead and assembled it, but I will be contacting customer service about the damage. I made photographs of it which I will send along to Customer Service.

I saw this table w/ light and chair. I was looking for something that folded up, adjustable in height, sturdy enough to cut material on and this table absolulely fit the bill. The chair is comfortable to..The light super handy! Be sure you follow instructions and measure carefully. Best Bday gift in a long time! fyi..Hayneedle was expediant and I received in 2 days! Wow! thumbs up!
