I bought this table for myself. I wanted a sewing table large enough for both my sewing machine and my serger. This design is perfect. The quality is good - its made with the same stuff that a Formica countertop is, so it's not that cheap pressed wood product. But it is very heavy. The box is 86 pounds of dead weight. In the box is 24 mostly rectangular pieces with pre drilled holes and about 10 pounds of hardware. The instructions say to mount all the hardware first before putting the boards together. This would be ok, except the diagrams are shown with the table upside down and inside out, so it is difficult to know if you are mounting hinges, magnetic catches and drawer sliders in the right direction until you are ready to put it all together. There is very little worded instruction - only the exploded diagrams which are too small to see any detail like which way the hinges, catches, etc. should go. But all in all, after 2 days of working on it, I got it together and it will be a great table for my sewing.

I was not expecting a fabulous piece of furniture for the price, but this quilting table still is way overpriced for what you get. First, the instructions for putting it together are terrible. Were I not experienced at putting furniture together I would have given up. The instructions are mostly drawings, and very small, unclear drawings at that. (Good drawings can be better than worded instructions some times.) The grammar used with the few written instructions is so bad that it often is difficult to understand exactly what goes where. Second, the little wooden pegs used in several spots are too short to hold a shelf securely and are made of what feels like balsa wood. Two snapped in half while I was trying to assemble the shelves and then I had to get the pieces out without enlarging the hole. My husband cut some metal screws to replace the wooden pegs and they are much stronger. But, we should not have had to do that. Third, the white finish is very thin and the table came with the finish rubbed off along the edges and corners of pieces. And last, the design and instructions do not secure the various pieces together tightly enough so that there are gaps where there should not be, even after tightening all screws as tightly as possible. Once this table is in place, I would not move it unless absolutely necessary. I would not recommend this table. If I had it to do over, I would buy a more expensive, but hopefully more soundly made table.

Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:
Assembly instructions could be a little clearer but was able to get it together. There were a couple of areas where the melamine was scuffed and torn but not where it was going to show. Seems heavy and that it will be durable.

Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:
This is very cheap lowend made piece of furniture. It looks like something you would put in a kid's room not at all useable for quilting. The top dulls the blades not sure why they bothered putting the lines on it. You will need to buy a cutting pad if you are going to use it. I am plannibng on returning this to the supplier.

Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:
Many complaints about the instructions. It says it should take 50 minutes. I am a mechanical engineer, and have assembled many Sauder products without difficulty, but this one took me 3 hours to assemble. The pictures don't tell you what direction to mount the stops, catches, and hinges. It says you just need a phillips head screwdriver, but you will need two different sizes, plus a regular head. Some of the holes were not drilled, and some of the screws were stripped before I touched them. I am very disappointed with the assembly experience, considering how much it costs. That said, once it was put together, it is a very functional piece of furniture.

Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:
Love the item but it took me more than the 50 minutes that was stated in the instructions for the table to be assembled. Still cleaning up my sewing room so I can start using the table and can set up my new sewing machine.

Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:
Because so many said the assembly instructions were horrible. I mean, who has time to deal with bad instructions. I am so happy I did not listen to the nay-sayers and bought this sewing cabinet. It is perfect! And not so hard to assemble. It just takes a little attention to detail - much like sewing!
