I will be using it as sewing/embroidery table. The back extension doesn't attach to well, flimsy & isn't a tight fit. That was the main reason I ordered the Bertha. Not to happy with that. The rest should be okay, just a simple straight table. Okay for the price. Will probably upgrade to a nicer one later. Had to purchase a side suzy so that I would have drawer space. Also, airlift hard to get adjusted. Still waiting on custom insert to see how well it works.

This was a gift from my husband and I like it very much but there were a few problems. First, we are 66 and 65 years old and the unit is very heavy. I knew the overall weight from the sales literature, however, I wish we would have been forewarned that two people had to be present for assembly and that the unit had to be turned on it's head during assembly. I am fairly experienced in assembling furniture of this type since most of what we have purchased in recent time has been furniture in a box. I have put together all of the previous shelves, bookcases, hutches and cabinets by myself and only had to have help to lift the finshed product, but since the assembly of the platform on the lift table was so difficult to adjust, I had to ask my husband to help and we had to turn the unit on it's head three times before getting the platform lined up to the point where it would work. We would have it lined up perfectly while it was face down on the floor but when we would turn it over, a part of the preassembled lift mechanism itself (not something we could adjust) would shift and throw the alignment of the platform off so that it was higher than the table top on one end and so off center that one corner would rub against the side of the cabinet opening. The alignment still is not perfect but at least it will clear the opening when raising and lowering the platform. Lifting the nearly assembled unit for this process was difficult & unwieldy at our ages. Also, we found the directions to be very vague and some of the pictures were of such poor quality, we could not see any of the details in them. The screw heads were very soft and tended to want to strip regardless of whether we were using a power driver or installing them by hand. All that being said, I do like the finished product but if I lived alone or it were much heavier to lift during assembly, it would still be lying in pieces on my sewing room floor until Christmas when our son could be home to help. I gave it a four star (instead of five star) rating simply because of the assembly problems. The finished unit is nice.

I have wanted a cabinet like this since I retired in 2003. I always had my sewing machine on a desk and it was really too high for sewing and it made my shoulders hurt. This cabinet is exactly what I wanted and the price was reasonable. I would recommend to anyone! I can not believe I waited so long to get this!
