I had high expectations for this little table based upon other people's reviews. It is exactly what I expected-compact, simple. I needed an inexpensive, basic, no-frills table that my large Designer SE would fit in. This little guy fit the bill. I bumped it up agianst my 2 banquet tables and made a very large, convenient sewing and quilting area. The only thing that I would change is to add an inch or so the the table's highth so that it would be the same as a standard banquet table that I know is commonly unsed by most crafters. I had to put 2 boards underneath the legs in order to lift it higher--not a huge problem, but it would be nice!

The legs are solid, the size of the table is great, but the quality of the table top and the insert are very disappointing. The laminate is paper-thin [...]. The table was also missing one of the screws to anchor a leg brace and it seemed to be missing hardware to stabilize the adjustable platform for the correct height for my machine. Lacking instructions, it seemed to have been packed before it was finished.

      This fits my machine and is the right height, now. However, there were no instructions with the product and I had to call the vendor. It wasn't hard to assemble but it was awkward to adjust the height of my machine.

      Comments about Roberts 299 Portable Sewing Table:

      The metal frame and particle board top make this a sturdy table. However, the table came with no instructions and missing hardware for the strap on the machine shelf. There is no height adjustment to align the machine top to the tabletop. The insert fits the machine nicely but is a sloppy fit in the table opening and is too thin for a solid working surface. There were only two screws (there should be three) in each of the support brackets for the machine shelf which caused them to bend as soon as the machine was placed on the shelf.

          The hole in the top is too big and doesn't lent to a firm sewing surface
          It doesn't adjust high enough for the surface to become even with the sewing surface of the machine.

            A: The dimensions are 12.5W x 24L inches.

            Q2: What is the depth of the insert area for the machine and is it adjustable?

            A: The dimensions of the insert area are 24W X 12.5D inches and it is not adjustable.

            Q3: What is the depth of the opening?

            A: There is a wing nut and chain to adjust the height of the opening since all machines are different.
